I signed up on Healthcare.gov or directly through BCBSAZ. How do I find out when my health coverage is in effect?
There are three ways that you can confirm your health coverage with BCSBAZ:
- Mail – If you’re a new member, you will receive a confirmation letter after you enroll, which includes your plan’s effective date and your member ID number. After that, you will receive two other mailings: your welcome kit and your member ID card.
- Online – If you have your member ID number (which was included in your confirmation letter), you can find your coverage start date and view what your plan covers through your MyBlueSM account. Sign in or register at azblue.com/Member (to register, have your member ID handy).
- Phone – Contact Member Services: 602-864-4115 or 1-877-318-4693. Member Services is available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For TTY hearing impaired, please call 1-800-232-2345 ext. 4823.
I know I have healthcare coverage, but how do I use my benefits?
You can visit azblue.com and sign up for a MyBlue account using your member ID located on your insurance card. Once signed into MyBlue, you can view your plan’s provider directory, your plan’s benefits, co-pays and deductibles, as well as many other aspects. If you cannot find an answer to your question through MyBlue, you can call your Customer Service Department at the number on the back of your ID card, or contact one of the offices nearest you:
- Phoenix: (602) 864-4400
- Tucson: (520) 745-1883
- Flagstaff: (928) 526-0232
What is a MyBlue account?
MyBlue is your online member account. When you register for and log in to your MyBlue member account at azblue.com/MyBlue, you’ll be able to:
- Find a BCBSAZ contracted doctor or hospital within your plan’s network
- View claim information sent by doctors and hospitals
- Access health and wellness resources that can help you live a healthier lifestyle
- Track how much you’ve paid out of your own pocket toward your deductible and yearly maximum
- Look up a drug your doctor orders (and how much it costs)
- Check what healthcare services your plan covers
- Order replacement ID cards
How do I get an ID card?
New members generally receive their member ID cards prior to their coverage start date. You can print a temporary ID card and order a replacement card through your MyBlue member account. If you have your member ID number available (it was included in your confirmation letter), you can sign in or register at azblue.com/MyBlue.
Once registered, you can get your ID card on your smartphone through the MyBlue AZ mobile app, available at the Google PlayTM store (AndroidTM devices) and the Apple® App StoreSM (Apple® devices).1

I received a bill, even though I’ve already paid it. Why did that happen, and how can I notify BCBSAZ?
Similar to a utility bill, BCBSAZ will mail your monthly bill to the address on your account on the 6th of every month before the date it is due (the 1st of each month). If you have already paid your bill or set up automatic payments, you don’t need to do anything. If you have questions about whether a payment has been received, please contact Customer Service at 602-864-4115 or 1-877-318-4693.
Why did I receive a past-due notice in the mail when I never received the first notice?
BCBSAZ mails monthly bills on the 6th of every month before the date it is due (the 1st of each month)—if we don’t receive a payment by the due date, we will send a reminder. If you didn’t receive your first bill, please contact Customer Service at 602-864-4115 or 1-877-318-4693, so we can confirm that your account information is correct.
